Finally a bolt in radiator mount kit for the EF chassis using the popular VW Scirocco Radiator.

The Scirocco Radiator is a popular choice among EF race enthusiasts. The all aluminum construction features a dual pass design with both outlets to one side. The sizing works well but up until now mounting was all custom work. Our kit will come with all needed powder coated brackets and hardware. To secure the bottom of the radiator we will also supply the needed aluminum post mounts. This kit mounts the radiator as close to the OEM radiator as possible with enough room to clear your relocated alternator. The lower and upper mount brackets are slotted to help achieve the best fit. It's designed to retain the hood latch T-bar without issues.

REQUIREMENTS

The kit REQUIRES some removal of the existing OEM radiator support. Purchasing just the mount kit hardware will require aluminum welding. Not to worry, the kit will come with detailed instructions.

Fill Neck. This shroud had no fill neck. That is what makes it universal. The radiator can be flipper 180 placing the outlet on either the right or left side. You can use either an inline fill or a cylinder head type fill.

NOT A WELDER?

We have a stock of prefabricated Scirocco Radiators with welded post mounts and welded closed over flow tube.

To be straight up, its a cheap Chinese radiator. This is the same type of radiator you could purchase from Amazon or eBay. This type of radiator is popular due to its all aluminum construction, dual pass design, size and we believe over ALL else cost.

We did not start out selling these radiators, rather accessories for them. By demand we started stocking the Chinese low cost types that are popular among those that have accepted its function over its form.

There are numerous manufacturers of this style radiator in this price range. Out of those, we have purchased several of them. ALL have passed the leak test but the welding on every one does not and will not look as pretty as a high dollar custom. The packaging isn't great and most of them will have some type of damage on the core fins right out of the box. The outlets are mostly straight. The OEM shroud bungs are close but when coupled with our laser cut CNC bent shroud that is consistent every time does not always match up. Tapping or resizing might be needed. At times we have seen aluminum weld blobs in the outlets what could be knocked down if it bothered you. Out of the many brands this particular one has been the most consistent however will still have the issues explained above, just less of them. For example one of the bungs could be off rather them 2 or more.

We just want to set up your expectations when buying a $100 something aluminum radiator. This is what you get for the cost. The additional cost seen in the total comes from paying for our welding labor.

The radiator does the job. Its proven. Thats why so many people like it. If you want one that looks amazing there might be manufactures you can look into like Koyo for example.
